While using our system, please keep in mind that maintenance records are defined by the FAA as having at least:
{info} Minimum Maintenance Record Requirements
- a work description
- a date of service
- time for the airframe, engine(s), and propeller(s) (if applicable)
- a signature by a qualified/certified person
{success} We only require a date of service to make a maintenance entry in our system because we want to make it easier for you to save your progress and return to the record later to complete it!
{primary} A maintenance record in our system may be "substantiated" (i.e. backed by a signature) by attaching a scan or image of the original paper record with a signature present or by using electronic signatures.
We built a new tool to allow your mechanic, wherever they are, even if they are not users of our system, to generate a new maintenance entry. This can be really useful if you are having work done at an unfamiliar shop and would prefer them to add a record to our system directly, rather than writing one in your logbook.
