Quick Start

Quick Start Estimated time: 12-18 minutes

Getting started quickly with our platform can be done in a few easy steps. Doing this method does not mean you cannot use the more thorough method later.

  1. Set up your logbooks! Estimated time: 2-3 minutes
    • Before you can do very much on the platform, the system needs to know what you're flying. Everything from maintenance records to tracking items depends on this.
    • At a minimum, set up your airframe and engine(s) logs. Read more on that here.
  2. Set up Tracking Items! Estimated time: 10-15 minutes
  3. Start transcribing! Estimated time: depends on how many records you want to onboard
    • Following the documentation instructions here, get transcribing! We recommend hand-typing everything you see in the work description of your maintenance entry. Our handy forms make it easy, and the more you input, the better your data retrieval will be and the more powerful the system will be to you.
    • Link your tracking items to your freshly transcribed maintenance records to mark items as complete! Read more here.
    • Want us to do the heavy lifting? Get in touch via scans@planelogix.com or fill out a price quote form.

{success} Want to see a demo account? Check out our public listings page and just click the Instantly View Everything PLANELOGIX Has On File For N- button at the bottom of each listing to login and see what that account looks like. Warning: clicking that button will log you out of your account!

Quick Start - Thorough Method

Getting started thoroughly with our platform can be done in a few easy steps and little more time investment:

  2. Scan and organize your records! Estimated time: depends on the aircraft, but usually up to 30 minutes to an hour for newer aircraft, and possibly several hours with older aircraft
    • Take clear, crisp, and high resolution scans of all of your documentation relevant to your aircraft (not just the logbooks). You can use your smartphone if you don't have a scanner! Make sure you take the time to remove stapled/paperclipped items, scan the items, scan what was underneath, and then replace.
    • Once scanned, organize your documents using Adobe Acrobat Pro. Use naming conventions like YYYYMMDD_TYPE_DESC_KEY_WORDS.pdf. For instance, an FAA 337 regarding a Garmin GNS 530 install on May 2nd, 2020 would be 20200502_337_Garmin_GNS_530.pdf. Check out our document uploader to see the various types we accept. Use a folder system on your computer to organize these prior to upload.
    • Upload your records using the Document Uploader!
